RR commits to AB BB

Briles offers a better offensive system to sell to WRs right now. His offense features 3-4 WRs on the field at a time. They throw the ball 60 times a game and rack up video game stats. Their top WR just got drafted in the 1st Round.

Meanwhile, we feature our ground game and often play more TEs/H-backs/FBs on the field than WRs. We haven't had a WR catch more than 50 passes or score more than 5 receiving TDs in a season since '09.

Facts is facts.

PFD, unfortunately you're right. Last year, our passing game was non-existent. When our 3 top backs got sidelined, it was exposed and it also didn't help that Shipley was gone for a few games and Mike Davis was lackluster.

But if the passing game is effective this season and can get us some first downs on 3rd and long, then some WR's might change their minds. But until then, if I'm a WR prospect with no prior ties to Texas, then I'm looking elsewhere.

The scuttlebutt is that Rhodes liked the size of Baylor and the proximity to home. On top of all that, given Baylor's recent success on the field, it's not surprising. Onward and upward.

If TEXAS is 10-2 or better on 12/15/2012 this conversation looks a lot different on 6/15/2013.

Nothing is more effective than winning. The last two seasons, regardless of cause, raises doubts that can only be erased with a return to former seasons of 10 plus wins.

If we aren't 10-2 with our experience, talent, coaching, and schedule then we will have our 3rd ****** year in a row. If the Fozz doesn't go down last year we go 9-3 even though we pretty much sucked *** on offense.

Bottom line is we need to provide Baylor an old fashioned beat down and then things will turn on the recruiting side.
