2-3 against top-15 ... 6-5 against top-35 ..

6 of 9 losses are for an average of 3.7 pts.
The only losses for more than 6 pts are on the road at OU, A&M and Mizzou

Due to that many close losses, our RPI is probably a bit lower than the demonstrated quality of our team, which is somewhere in the 25-35 range. We should be somewhere between a 6 and 9 seed as of now.

Even with an 0-2 finish from now, we are pretty safely in the dance, because of the 6 quality wins. The Big12 will get 6 teams in there and only aggy or OkieSt as a 6th team has even a very remote chance of missing it, not us.

I think K State is on the outside looking in and most likely out after losing to Okie State last night. Okie State is likely in.

Thank God I/we don't have to sweat out the selection process.

A few years ago, Texas was a bubble team. I was driving through Arkansas and listening to the selection show. Texas was - literally - the last (64th) team that they called out. I thought I was going to have a mental breakdown listening to all the other teams being called out.

RPI as of 3/8/09, after the Kansas loss - Remains at #36

No question of any bubble, still ... A couple of wins in the B12 tournament would help move up from a potential 8 or 9 seed to 6 or 7 or even 5 .. A one-and out in the tournament might push us even to a 10 seed or something. IMHO.

Let me ask this question, and I know that I am opening myself up for backlash but that is ok. If we beat Colorado, and lose to K-State, and they are a bubble team who will then have beaten us at home and neutral, would that effect our ability to make the tourney? I hate thinking of that but it's worth throwing out... I think.

I don't think that would happen, but it sure is not an unreasonable question. I doubt that it would come down to "them" or "us".
