Babhorn mentioned in her Miss State preview that the Horns rotation was 7 (essentially) down from 11. It is always good for team spirit for all the players to get some amount of playing time (although never equal). That typically happens in most games. However, when playing a top team like Tenn or Miss State, a coach will always shorten the rotation to give the team the best chance of winning. In a perfect world where early fouls don't change things up much, most coaches will go to a 8 player rotation. Of course some teams don't have 8 top players and they will go with 7 and some have 9 and will stretch playing time out. The perfect rotation whether pros, college, high school or other is the magic 8. When Ariel gets back that will give Coach Aston her 8 that she is most comfortable with. If Brady gets healthy then 9 comes into play. The rest of the roster will need to be ready when their name is called due to fouls, injuries, or situational needs. Hope tonight that Coach can use 9 or 10 and come away with a win.......but it may be 7 again with some short situational subbing.
