There's not a lot of 'gems' who are unsigned halfway through June. However, at a very cap friendly price, Colvin has a chance to be an effective weak-side situational pass rusher, which is something the Texans need...this was a good signing...

This isn't a Randy Moss or Terrell Owens signing. Not at all. It is a solid get, though, considering that the Texans really don't have any one to rush the passer opposite Mario in passing situations. I mean, yeah, there's Kalu and Cochran, but they're not in the same league as Colvin (assuming he's healed).

The bigger thing for me is how having Colvin and Mario on the outside in passing situations affects a young interior pass rusher like Okoye. He could really excel.

The Texans should have the opportunity to draft a pass rusher next year.
