I didn't think anyone could touch UConn, but after seeing Appel the other night, I think she and her team can do it!!

i feel like Stanford has a better shot than Louisville to take down UConn. let's go Cardinal. i want to see another upset!
 
Can someone explain why they are called the Cardinal and they have a ridiculous Tree thing as a mascot??

Is Cardinal the color ? What is the tree ? Looks like a Pine??

Whatever, I love Appel, and I hope they can control the pace and keep the high-low thing going....

I really love the way that Kayla Pedersen plays the game. I had hoped that she would sign with Texas. I hope she blows up on UConn inside and from BTA. Go, Kayla!!
 
the Cardinal is the color, not the bird. and i think the "unofficial" Tree mascot came from a band member dressing like a tree. so it stuck. i don't know what the tree has to do with the color Cardinal, though.

OMG......Melissa Barlow is one of the refs for this game....how the h did she get this gig.....???

She called one of the WORST games ever at Texas (FEC) this year, just AWFUL.....I thought I was going to come out of the stands and clock her....

gotta admire how the uconn players can take a hit and make the shot. That's twice I have seen a uconn player bounce off a stanford one and still make a shot.

The Stanford Tree is the un-official mascot of Stanford University. Stanford's team name is "The Cardinal," referring to the vivid red color (not the common song bird as at several other schools), and the University has never been able to come up with an official mascot which adequately conveys the fierceness and sporting prowess it had hoped to symbolize with that particular shade of sanguine. This fact creates a void not typically found at schools with less-abstract symbols for their sports teams, and into this unfulfilled void the Stanford Band has insistently thrust what is one of the United States' most bizarre and controversial college mascots.[1] The Link
 
OMG!!! Where's the replay???? Appel was MAULED!!! Yeah right, she was shooting at the seats behind the bucket. Geeeesh! Let's give UConn all the help. YIKES!
 
i think UConn has this game wrapped up already. they are just too good. i was at least hoping for a closer game, but UConn is rolling now.
 
barring a total collapse by uconn, it' should be all over except for determinimg the final margin. renee really much better than i thought. no question about her being the best and most complete pg in college.
 
This is sad, I expected better from Stanford....

gotta remember that stanford is here without their pg. they are going to be tough next season. that front line is only going to be better and they should have a pg or two next season.
 
Oh, and one more thing....

This game reminds me of our games vs LSU in 2003 and 2004 ....

In 2003, we kicked their ***.....we went to Final 4....

in '04, LSU got back at us, and beat us.....they went to FF.
