Ugggggghhhhhh! Say it ain't so and I know none of us want to say it but would a "bit of success" in the sec from aggie/tiger translate into bringing the likes of the media and the backwater fans of " that conference" down to earth?

Man! I wish we could have that BCS National Championship game against Bama back with a healthy Colt, and having been the only fly in the ointment of this sec string of NC and media love-fest. 2 Longhorn NC in 7 years would have been kick a$$.

Big12 haters be damned! Let's do this!

Hook em!

I hope the gags never win another game.
I might pull for Mizzou depending on the opponent.

HOOK 'EM,
Texdoc.

The only way I would pull for TAMU or Mizzou would be if their win would positively impact UT's position such as beating someone ahead of Texas in the polls where the Final Four is affected or knocking out a Big12 opponent that is ahead in the conference. Just like any other team in that position. I am all about improving Texas' postion.

But even then it will be tough to do.

As the Baptist preacher is wont to say...hell will freezeth over before I ever find myself pulling for the cow college. If they go 0 for the SEC this fall, that will set well with me. I'm not fond of Mizzou either, but like somebody else said, if (and ONLY if) Mizzou winning would benefit the Horns, I might pull for them and their lounge lizard head coach, in a luke warm kinda way.

Unless it helps us in the polls, no way! I hope they fall below UK, Vandy, and the Mississippi schools in the SEC pecking order in football.

What?????? The Success of Aggie and Mizzou will never change the SEC stance on the Big 12 competition wise. Even if the AGGs or Mizzou were to have great success... they are part of the SEC now and not the Big 12. It would be the recruiting power of the SEC that got them there and not their location. The SEC isa bout being the best over any conference no matter the argument.

I for one don't care about Missouri's Success as for the Aggs, I also don't care because the divorce is final. But I would get a nice laugh at their failures more than their success.

If agricultural were playing the Iranian national football team, I'd be Persian for a day. By the way, regarding this thread, epic fail. I know it's still the off-season, but...

HELLLLLLL NOOOOO!!!! If Mizzou and Aggy go winless this season I care not. Has nothing to do with the B12 or how good the B12 is. They aint in this conference.

My position on this remains unchanged. Had aggy manned up, looked us in the eye, and said, "Hey Texas, we understand you have to do what's best for you, but we're moving in a different direction, so no hard feelings," I wouldn't have any issues with them leaving. I would still find it incredibly ill-advised, and I still wouldn't like them, but I would have some semblance of respect for the initiative they showed

But since they chose (yet again) to act like Jan Brady and whine about "Texas, Texas, Texas!", and blame everything on Texas' "greed" about the LHN (which no one gets) and unequal revenue sharing (which the maroon hypocrites were in favor of from Day 1 of the Big XII), I can't really wish them well. I won't necessarily be actively rooting against them, but then again I won't have to, because they are going to get absolutely prison-raped on a weekly basis. And like a big brother who warned his red-headed step-brother not to go and do something stupid, I will probably smile, shake my head, and mutter "I told you so" under my breath many times in the coming years. And when they do something truly embarrassing--and you know it's only a matter of time before they do--I'll simply shrug (as if to say, "I'm looking at you, SEC) and say, "Not my problem."

I'm incredibly apathetic regarding Mizzou. They clearly lusted after the B1G, and after the Penn State fiasco it's conceivable they could have had it all had they been but a little more patient. So while I don't harbor hard feelings for them, I won't feel sorry for them if it turns out they missed out on the league of their dreams.

Of course not. Agg is nothing to us now. Does anyone think that an aggie is going to be rooting for Texas this year because somehow it makes them look better?

Give me a break.

To use a line from Jeremiah Johnson, "Aggie Misery is the marrow of the world." I would like nothing better than to see the Ags go 0-fer in the SEC until it becomes a running national joke. As far as how it reflects on our conference, who cares? They didn't do squat here, either. The Horns will have every opportunity to make their own rep.

Missou? A meaningless pest who beats you when you're having a down year.
