back in Sept I claimed Ike damage on the roof of my house and the insurance adjuster came out and said the whole back side of the roof needed to be replaced...this equals $x.xx...minus the deductible....and the check came 3 weeks later.
After doing a bit of research and waiting 3 months for a roofing company to come and do an estimate...2 different roofing companies came up with the same result...1 square of shingles needed to be replaced...$300...done and done.
Fast forward to last night...we finally have a sales contract for the same house...but, the buyer wants to know why there is such a discrepancy between the adjusted claim on the roof and the actual work done...we have signed the contract but i have been given 3 days to supply documentation supporting the roof was repaired correctly.
I have been trying to get in touch with the roofing company that did the repair to get them to comeback out and line item check every issue on the adjuster's report. I have been trying to get another company to come and do the same thing.
The problem is that every roofer in the Houston area still has a couple week waiting list to get someone to come out to the house...including the roofer that did the repair work the first time.
I am in a bit of a bind and any insight would be greatly appreciated.
