Roofing experts--need shingle advice

Time for a new roof. The hail storm in April was enough to do damage, but not enough that the insurance will cover it. Oh well, it was a 10 year old roof anyway so we're going to bite the bullet & have it replaced for peace of mind & so we can have some more roof vents installed & pick some shingles that will match better than the existing ones do.

Question for you roofing experts: our proposal lists several options from the basic "A" rated 3-tab 20 year shingles (Certainteed CT-20 or GAF Sentinel) up to 45 year dimensional shingles. We're likely going to upgrade a bit and our basic choices are amongst the following lines:

Atlas Glassmaster/Pinnacle 35/Pinnacle 45
Elk Prestique RP/HD 30/Prestique 40
GAF Timberline 30/40

I know almost nothing about shingles. Any real difference between the manufacturers? The Atlas shingles have a transferrable warranty which may be of value come resale time.

We replaced our roof about 10 years ago from hail damage and went with an Elk 40 yr dimensional shingle recommended by a neighbor across the street that owns a roofing business. It looks as good today as it did then. Our dumb *** next door neighbor went replaced his at the same time with a thin (20 or 30yr?) shingle and it looks like it needs replacing 10 years later.

I don't know about the others, but going with the Elk was a good move for us.
