Ron Paul has done a great service to the Republican party and the American people with his brand of Libertarian Republicanism. He has forced difficult and awkward topics into the limelight, he has drawn attention to critical issues that have otherwise been effectively ignored altogether by elected representatives of both parties (going back many years) and he has proposed unorthodox and sometimes unpopular solutions to these problems, even when he knew that would earn him the ire of more mainstream politicians across the board.
Ron Paul has been a man of courage and conviction, devoting much of his career to public service as a US Congressman representing Galveston, Texas. The Republicans should be proud to have him as one of their own. And apparently they are, as they have scheduled a video tribute at the Republican convention next week.
Even though I was not someone who backed him in his candidacy for President, I would like to say thank you to Ron Paul for his outstanding service to this country.
Well done, Dr. Paul!
