Ron Paul, Jon Stewart has your back

"Why is the media ignoring Ron Paul?"

Obviously, Stewart is a liberal and not a supporter of Paul, but he consistently points out the hypocrisy on ALL sides.

RoPa has been here before as a fringe candidate and has burned out. The same thing will probably happen again. The other candidates are "new": Bachmann and now Perry.

First- Jon Stewart is funny. He covers topics other than politics too- sometimes they involve actors, fart jokes or other current events. The guy simply makes me laugh when I watch.

Second- If I had to guess without knowing for sure- as NO ONE here knows Jon Stewart- he probably is more of a progressive, with libertarian views- that would conflict more times with the GOP than the Dems. That being said- how he runs his show doesn't mean it reflects his political leanings as many anchors are quite capable of masking their personal views.

Third- and I know this one will annoy or upset- while most here acknowledge that MSNBC has its share of bias/opinion shows, I believe the level of bias that MSNBC shows is nowhere near the level of bias Fox shows- thus, for calling out networks on a comedy show, Fox deserves it more for its blatant disregard of facts or journalism it exhibits more often than any other network combined.

If you don't already, you should check out his show- you'll probably laugh and discover he covers many topics other than politics.

We need reasonable folks to step forward to brake the constant blame game / slash and burn politics. One can hope

Im not so sure what makes Paul fringe..... He gets more military support than any other candidate, his beliefs are based on the constitution, he is for limited government and promotes personal liberty. Hes for protecting the border and bringing our troops home and for sound money.

Man, what a kook...... Seriously? How anyone can call him fringe is beyond me. The mainstream media continues to marginalize him, but they look foolish.

How about instead of fringe, we say that he just isn't a mainstream politician.

Fringe has a certain connotation that Ive always interpreted as negative, out of touch. Ron Paul IS in touch with reality. He doesn't spew canned ********.

The talking heads continue to say he has no chance to win and its just ridiculous. How Rick Perry is a front runner having just entered the race, but Paul, who ran four years ago and has done better than most other candidates thus far, has no chance, is beyond me.

Instead of the media just telling their viewers that Paul doesnt have a chance, why dont they just cover the candidates and their positions, and let the viewers make up their mind instead of trying to convince the viewers one way or the other...

He's a republican. You can't get much more mainstream than that.

Stewart's point is a good one. It's hilarious to see the talking heads talk all around Ron Paul and try to ignore the actual results.

Of all the GOP candidates, Paul in many ways is the most conservative AND the most likely to pull independent voters. That sort of sounds like a paradox but his firm constitutionality angle provides a nice compromise for almost everyone. The dems should be scared to death of this guy because in a head to head match up, Ron would be in great shape to defeat Obama. The problem is that with the media's total boycott he will never have a chance.

That was actually really funny. I think it's probably a pretty good example of the media's tendency to form a template and then not get off it regardless of what actually happens. Ron Paul has already been cast as "the guy who can't win" - I've heard that from pretty much every commentator who's discussed the race.

Its perplexing. They seem to think that just because 4 years ago he didnt get the nomination, and that because his message is the same as it was then, then it still applies today. However, Ron Paul has been on the money for years about where this country is heading. Hes been very accurate in his predictions, even from decades past. I think more people are realizing that he has a pretty firm grasp on the reality of our situation and has been right about it for a long time.

We dont have to agree 100% with all of his ideas, but they are very firmly rooted and he is convicted beyond belief. He is also realistic that he wont change things overnight. There is a process and he fully acknowledges that.
