Romney gets G. Johnson kicked off Michigan Ballot

Sounds like a good candidate.

Correct me if I am wrong, I thought any American citizen can submit a bill for congress to vote on? I am sure he has political friends he could use to help support a bill. If his ideas are so great, why not just submit the bills for congress to pass?

I am not being sarcastic either. I think any person can submit bills for the sub-committees to view over. Now, whether it goes beyond the committees for a debate and vote is another matter. I think that is why you get congressmen/women who sponsor bills.
 
He has my vote. I want him very much to at least be able to join the debates which is exactly what Obama and Romney don't. He will be more than the pest that the sucking sound was. He will make the other two know their ****, stand by their **** and answer tough questions. Watch how he did early on in the debates when there were many candidates.

I am so sick of the two party system and what we have it makes my skin crawl. I loathe it and he is by far the best, most solid contender with a good resume to shake things up a bit.

Do I think he will win? No, America is not ready to actually speak out and do something. But getting him or a legit third voice/person on the stage fielding questions and making the other two sweat is a good start. Then get more numbers next election and so on, so forth until we can actually get some change.

Gary Johnson has my vote. I am registered Democrat but am Independent that leans Liberal with a side dish of Conservative/Left.
 
I like Johnson, and there's probably a 50 - 50 chance that I'll vote for him. However, I don't really see the problem here. If he blows a filing deadline, it shows that his operation is a bit slipshod. Second, there's nothing wrong with one of his opponents wanting the law enforced.

Let's put it this way. If Romney or Obama blew a filing deadline, would you have a problem with Johnson trying to get one of them kicked off the ballot? I wouldn't. Rules are rules.
 
Good point. Now, vote for him so that we can get him in on the debates to maybe make headway for himself or somebody else next run and each time create more momentum!

I first got into GJ from this NPR segment as part of Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. This was when he still had aspirations to run on the R ticket. I think you will enjoy it.

Edit: that is partly true. I knew of him when he was Gov of N.M. having lived there and having family/friends still there.

What did Romney tell him his shoes were untied as he was running up the stairs to the Secretary of State of Michigans office with this fee and application? How did Romney get him kicked off the ballot, he was late?
 
That is really the key point all the way around. Unfortunately we elect the folks that run the best campaigns. As much as I like Gary Johnson, he couldn't even work himself up to a blip on the Republican RADAR screen. So now he's running as a Libertarian as if the national election will be easier than the primaries. Whatever.
 
A candidate has to have good ideas and great execution. Newt Gingrich is like a better known Gary Johnson in a way. Newt has some very good ideas, but his campaign was a mess. Gary Johnson's campaign has been a mess from day one. Again, I really like the guy, but how about showing us some great organizational skills on your way to the White House! I think Obama is a socialist at heart and a disaster of a President, but I have to give him credit for creating a great organization and running a great campaign in '08.
 
A successful president or leader at anything is about who you surround yourself with, if he can't surround himself with competent people during this stage, I sure as hell do not want him as POTUS.
 
Newt did have great ideas. His problems were that nobody who had worked with him in the past liked him, because he was a jerk and that his personal life was a mess.
