Rome: anybody else hear this knucklhead?

Guy from California calls in about something entirely un-related, but before getting to his meaningless take, gets off a blast about how the "refs changed the rules for hometown boy Colt McCoy in the Big XII Championship."

I decided many many years ago when I finally had other choices to never listen to Jim Rome's show again. It's a decision I haven't questioned for a millisecond. As mediocre as I think Rome himself is, it's the fans and callers to his show that clinched it. It's not a sports talk show, it's a "hey look at me" show.

It's not really a sports show. It's a comedy show set within the sports realm. At times it can be quite entertaining. It can be hit or miss though.

I would have to listen to the Rome show to hear it so sorry, I did not. I have not listened to a moment of his antics or his callers in about a decade or more. I really don't think I ever will either.

I remember that vividly but did not know that it was Jim Rome..... What a ******* douche bag...... he should have drawn blood from Jim after he called him that..... What kind of professional does he think he is?

Jim Rome was a douchebag before the word even existed.
I listen on occasion, but only in 5 minute intervals, because most of the time he'll say something, then repeat himself for the next 5 minutes, then go on to something new.
There's' about 30 minutes worth of good material in the entire 3 hours show. And 20 of those minutes are interviews and commercials.

Can't stand Rhome, so no, I didn't hear it either.

What annoys me isn't so much what he says, it's all the damned dead air between what he says. And then he repeats what he says over and over and over....always with eons of dead air between repetitions...

There are plenty of juvenile minded easy to please people, I guess. There are a lot of people who would find his type of show entertaining. I cannot think of anybody that is a close friend that listens to that show at all, not to mention regularly. I know plenty of people that do and those are not ones that I consider a friend. I hope I was able to accurately state what I am getting at with those two sentences.

Basically, I think that somebody who enjoys that type of show is not somebody I would want to have a conversation with on a regular basis. They are not bad people, just different. I don't have lots of friends that watch, gish, I can't think of anything as bad on TV. (I am sure there is, I just don't know about it.)
