Fortunate enough to book airfare when it was $256 round trip. Staying at Harrahs Saturday to Tuesday. 8 of us will be there. Tailgates planned? Locations?

I would really enjoy going this year. Team has exceeded my expectations. Sorta like 2002 and that was one trip I am forever gonna be glad I took. Went out with my son and met my brother and nephew there. Planned trip literally the last minute. Kids played at zoo met the entire USC team. Caught a foul ball and saw horns win a national championship for first time in person. I can only hope the new digs work hard to emulate the truly American icon that was Rosenblatt. For all those going out be safe and represent Texas well.

2002 was my first trip as well. last minute with my brother in law. We decided the afternoon before the game. Flew to Kansas CityWe didn't even have a rental car. Met some ut fans at the bar waiting for our connection to KC at Hobby. Almost got kicked off the plane for singing eyes of texas.( It was a long layover at Hobby and the drinks were flowing).Flight attendant had to get on the pa and tell us all to shut up. Ended up hitching a ride with them to Omaha. Stayed at a roach motel. scalped a ticket. watched the game. Celebrated and went back to Kansas City for the flight home. All in less than 48 hours. Great trip!

keep in mind I29 will likely be closed in certain areas between KC and Omaha due to flooding. Check you alternate routes!

We've been taking US-81 north out of Wichita for years now, catching I-80 west of Omaha. It's a pleasant drive.

If portions of I-29 are closed, that route would work especially well this year. We'll be heading to Omaha on US-81 Saturday morning.

I wish I could go. I've been there twice for national championships: 1983 and 2005. I've also seen four seconds and a third.

But if I went, I'd probably spend the entire time crying for Rosenblatt. I still get chills when I recall the feeling I got when I stepped into that grand old stadium for the first time, back in 1981. I felt like I'd reached utopia, which, I guess, Rosenblatt was for college baseball fans.
