Roddick gets what he deserves

Dude bails out on the olympic team to play in some US Open Series events. He then plays in the event with all the real stars over in Bejing. He then loses in the final in straight sets to a teenager. I used to be a big fan of Roddick but now am wishing that an old Agassi would make a comeback so I would have a reason to watch American men's tennis.

That guy who beat him today will be in the Top 10 by the end of this year. He has been CRUSHING people in the last two months. He's an Argentine, he's big (physically tall @ 6'6" and not skinny like Peter Crouch who is 155, Juan's listed at 172lbs), and he smacks the **** out of the ball.
Juan Martin del Potro is now ranked #24, but I think he started the year over 100.

Roddick will probably never beat del Potro again (if he ever has in the past).

You can be bitter with Roddick for not losing for the USA, but if "getting what you deserve" means "he met a better player in the final who wasted him", then I guess he got what he deserved.

Commit the name to memory. He's AWESOME!

Roddick is a has been who never really was anything. He was a flash in a pan before real players with real dedication and work ethic entered the scene. He will be an answer to a trivia question one day.

He just needs to earn more money and fade to Bolivian. I don't come even close to rooting for him. I love James Blake and a few other US players. Roddick, what a joke.

On the other hand, a friend of mine (originally from Dallas) played pick-up ball with Roddick in LA a few years ago while Mandy Moore sat to the side and watched.

I have really like him ever since then. I wasn't there and I knew that Andy shouldn't have been either, but I liked that about him. And now that he lives in Austin, I like him a bit more.

I have never liked Blake. It has to do with the way he always plays like he's got a corncob in his ***. I can't watch him without thinking- "You wouldn't have to stand and move like that if you just took that thing OUT OF YOUR ***!!"

Mardy Fish?

I couldn't pick him out of a crowd.

Basically, I'll pull for the next American (and this Del Potro kid) who I can stand watching.

What do you mean you don't think Federer is in the Olympics. He was until today when he lost to James Blake, but he is most definitely there playing for his country.

Maybe my sarcasm meter is turned off, or maybe you are trying to make a bad joke. I don't know. I do know that Federer is playing for a gold medal in doubles, so he is still in the olympics even though he lost to Blake.
