Why do these games start so damn late?!?!?!?

Let's Go Rockets!

This is terrible. No second chance points tonight.

****, no FIRST chance points on most of these possessions. How many times has Scola missed a pass tonight?

between the turnovers and nobody being able to hit water if they fell out of a boat for the Rockets tonight...this is ugly.

you have to dig a giant hole for yourself first before you can get to clutch city. Rockets in 7!...as soon as the lakers lose 2 of their all stars.

How do you finish the 3rd quarter with a 30 point lead in one game and then have a 40 point deficit at the same point against the same team two days later?

Well, for the Lakers, Jackson prepares for a certain strategy in advance of the games. The Lakers had prepped for a Yao-led Rockets team. Without him in Game 4 (and an out-of-this-world performance from Brooks), the Lakers were stumped with what to do, especially from the big men. Odom leaving the game early put way too much pressure on the "screen-busters."

Adjustments were made for Game 5.

Adjustments were key. Bynum had a good game and made a difference in the paint where the Lakers haven't played great all series. Lakers were outrebounding Houston who is now very much overmatched size wise. Also the perimeter team defense that LA played was very different than in game 4 where they were just letting guys shoot wide open outside shots.

Kobe played much better, shooting a better %. I don't see how Houston can beat LA now. LA has found what works for them and Houston doesn't have the experience to get them through this series.

Home court in the NBA is a huge advantage. Houston can definitely win Game 6. It was clear in the 1st 5 minutes of the game that the refs were not going to let Houston compete. They basically took Chuck Hayes out of the game for breathing on Gasol. In the end it really didn't matter, but it's pitiful to see the refs set the tone of the game like that against Houston.

The Rockets will come out fired up for Game 6 and play much better.

So who is volunteering to run out onto the court and punch Kobe in the junk if it looks like we are going to lose game 6?

Seriously though...What can you really expect? No center and Chuck was being hated on. The second foul in the first quarter was especially atrocious considering this is the playoffs....actually considering this is basketball and not tennis.

EAD. I got the point. It's silly to implicate that the refs "set the tone" by calling fouls on a dude who averages a foul every 5 minutes he plays.

Refs "set the tone" by calling flagrants on normal fouls, and ignoring blatant ones. But Hayes staying out of foul trouble has very little to do with "the tone."

Again, yes, I saw the fouls. And yes, they were ticky tack. Boo hoo. I complained when Damion James got called for a clearout against Duke, but that's not the reason we lost the game (a much closer game, btw).

It wasn't tone setting. Anyone complaining about calls on Chuck Hayes is pissing into the wind. Maybe if it was Yao and in a pressure-filled moment of the game, you'd have a right to *****.

The only person arguing about tone setting is you. No one is saying "the world began to fall apart as soon as Hayes was fouled."

It didn't SET the tone. It's an INDICATION of the tone.
