Rockets-Lakers game 4

Holy hell, this is an excellent start so far. Shane Battier with 3 3-pointers already.

I've had an absolutely miserable week capped off by, bar none, the worst day of my life on friday. I really could use something to cheer me up, go rockets!

considering, the top three (Artest shot terribly) and Mutombo weren't at the game, its a great win for the rockets, hopefully this can give them the mentality that will transition into a winning series, i know its not likely, but they are "where amazing happens"

Excellent win. Battier and Brooks completely took over today.

EDIT: Also, in case anybody isn't paying attention, the horns are nursing a 1 run lead in the 9th against A&M. Big XII title on the line right here.

Battier outscored Kobe. Heh.

That was an *** kicking. How sweet it is.

Odds are that Artest will light it up at some point. Maybe he can carry them in game 5.

Funny he mentioned Artest because I think he's going to have to win them Game 5 if they're going to win the series.

IMV, the Lakers did not take the Rockets seriously in either game 1 (off the season sweep) or game 4 (with Yao out). I don't expect them to win another game.

I picked Lakers in 6 but it may go 7 but Lakers are the better team. Give Rockets credit though they played very well today without their 2 stars.

Big win to force at least a game 6 in Houston. I know this isn't a stretch of a prediction but whoever wins on Tuesday will take the series. Most likely in 6.

Lakers not taking rockets seriously......

I have no reason to argue with that point, but if true, then neither the Lakers nor Kobe can hold the Jordan lead Bull's jocks ever. Kobe can never be spoken of in the same breath as Jordon because Jordan never let his team do the things that Kobe lets the Lakers do.

Last years implosion in the finals, game 6? is a good example. Yesterday is another. I hated the Bulls ten years ago, but honestly, the more I think about it, that was the most dominating team Ive ever seen, and the year they won 72, they NEVER took their foot off the pedal. It didnt matter who they played.

Kobe, for all his talent is nothing more than a more talented Vince Carter who got to play with one of the most dominating big men ever. If not for Shaq, Kobe would still be looking for his first championship.

I don't know if Kobe has more natural talent than Vince Carter, but he works harder on his game and plays smarter than Vince, as well as giving 10x the effort on defense and seeing the court better.

I'm not sure if he's an "excellent" defender but he's a pretty good one. I think his 1st-team all defense selections over guys like Artest, Bowen, Christie, Battier, and Prince were overrating his defense though.

Kobe's defense is as good as the effort he puts into it. He has a history of being a great defensive player, although this year he has been inconsistent. He should not have made 1st team this year, IMO, and got the vote on his reputation. However, Kobe is a great defender when he puts in the effort.

The all-defense teams are definitely imbalanced in favor of guys who already have a star reputation based on their offense.

LeBron James has improved his defense a ton since he came into the league, but him on the 1st team while Tayshaun Prince and Raja Bell didn't even make 2nd team is ridiculous. Chris Paul ahead of Chauncey Billups? Heck even Kirk Hinrich and Andre Iguodala, who hardly got any votes at all, should be up there with LeBron and Kobe and CP3 in terms of stoppers.
