Reckless Kelly played a pre-game concert before the Texas State game. (RK kicked ***, as usual.) During their set, Willy announced that "we have a special friend hanging out with us today. Please welcome Robert Earl Keen." Serious buzz goes through the crowd, then REK walks out.

Holy crap, he has gotten OLD. Graying hair and a gray goatee. He sang their Katrina song with them, which was disappointing because he's really not a good singer, and when he does sing, you want it to be one of his own songs.

But holy crap does Robert Earl Keen look old. Made me feel old, too.

Agreed. I saw him play in Austin a few months back and thought the same thing.

Sorry to ruin your frat-boy nostalgia party there, but the guy is 52 years old if you haven't ever checked. Oh and he has written a song or two since The Road Goes On Forever and Corpus Christi Bay. Some pretty intelligent ones I might add.

I saw him at Maudie's before the game in Austin. He does indeed look very old.

Getting old is the price, if you want to put it that way, of being born in the first place. The odds to that are against any individual to the tune of around 10**500. Compare that to 10**80 heavy particles in the universe.

Stop sniveling, you've already won the lottery, big time.
