Rob Lanier rejoins Texas staff

Anyone who was instrumental in recruiting T.J. Ford and Royal Ivey is good in my book. He was also a pretty good recruiter for Billy Donovan at Florida.

This is great news and a testament to Rick Barnes and Texas. There was quite a bit of speculation that Lanier may not want to leave Florida unless it was for a head coaching position.

This is probably the best coaching news about our men's program since... well... Barnes got hired. Especially from an offensive standpoint.

RB has his pick of the top assistants nationwide when he hires. Folks love working for him.

So much for the program being doomed by Terry's departure. I imagine that if Fresno State turns into a disaster, he'll come back also.

Barnes obviously wanted him back, so there is that, but I am not that pumped that things are going to change. The signal is, more and better recruiting.
