I am pleased we are getting Flowers and Westerman. We have learned how important the guys in the trenches are.

All of the big uglies look great in highschool, but when McWhorter and Davis finish with them, the are great at standing up and letting guys run by them.

I hope to god these guys are great run blockers, but I am not going to believe anything until I see it.

Both programs are getting a great haul, as usual.

As a Sooner, I'm pleased, obviously. Williams and Metoyer getting 5-star bumps was a surprise to me. I figured one, but not both. Jordan Phillips also got a huge bump to #42. That gives us 3 of the top 11 defensive tackles, which is a serious need position, same as for UT. We've been told we'll still be dipping into the JUCO ranks for another DT, though.

I saw Aaron Green dropped like a stone. He's had an up-n-down senior season, I believe.

OL are the toughest kids to project out of HS. The best kids OU has gotten along the OL have been one of the following:

1) converted DT (Jammal Brown, Davin Joseph)
2) underrated 3-stars (Trent Williams, Chris Chester, Jon Cooper)
3) JUCO (Phil Loadholt)

We've had some 4-star guys pan out (Duke Robinson), but we've had some major whiffs out of that bunch, too.

Rivals 100

Not sure when Rivals is going to give out more 5 stars. Westerman is currently listed as #18 and Edmond #20 and I think they both end up 5 stars when all is said and done.

Jackson at #61 is a high four star but I think he is even better than that ranking. Dude has a motor you just can't coach.

Shipley at #62 is also a freak of an athlete. Can't wait to see him on campus.

I have high hopes for #64 Diggs and hope he is the playmaker at PR/KR that we have needed this year.

Texas has 2 of the top 7 DTs and that sits well with me. Texas brought in a great class last year that has been getting in shape and should be ready for 2011. Can't wait to see our DL rebuilt going forward. It has seemed to be a position where they have patched up over the last couple of seasons moving guys around. Finally we'll have some hogs there clog the middle and let the skill guys do what they need to on the outside.

Williams did not look like a 5-star last Friday night against a 5-5 Giddings team.

Shipley should be a five star or very high 4 star IMO.
