Rivals Top 100 for 2009

USC already has 5 commits from the top 100. They just got a verbal from the top overall prospect QB Matt Barkley. Sick class so far. There's 12 prospects from TX on that list. Hopefully some of them will make it to the UT Junior Day.

That Barkley commitment was well-timed considering the good news that UCLA had been able to string together the past week or so.

And to add to an already sick class, they are considered either the far away leaders or at least among the frontrunners for #'s 3, 6, 8 and 17 on that list.

Mack and Major should keep the contacts at St. Bonnie as well. Patrick Hall on that list is a very versatile guy and great athlete - he also handled Scott's coming to St. Bonnie very well (he was going to be the man at RB) which says something about his character. Also, they are supposed to have a monster OL who was a Soph this past year.

Well lets not count those chickens yet. The Bush scandal, which I am convinced will break in about 6 month, and which could possibly be a reason Carroll is looking to the NFL, could change some of those commitment.

About 1/3rd of those kids won't make it to the Final Natl Top 100. About 1/5th of those kids will be 3-stars by the end of the recruiting season.

All the kids from Texas on there will be visiting UT on the junior days coming up in Feb.

Does any one know if they are being actively recruited or did they just receive mail from UT?

THAT'S the conclusion you came to in the initial top 100 list for '09? We all know we don't start giving offers until the Junior days and we have a dozen of the top 100 guys coming in! There is some serious talent in TX this year, more so than in recent years, and we have a shot at a top 5 class. I can't wait until Feb.
