Rival's Texas Top 100

why are they anti longhorn again? they've only ranked as one of the top recruiting classes in the nation every year since mack has been there.

so they disagree with ketch..... well, go figure.... an outside evaluator disagreeing with texas beat reporters over where the texas commits are ranked. next thing you know, they'll start disagreeing with james hale.

Without doing any current research it seems to me that in the past Texas has as many or more top 100 guys as Florida in their listings. Last year and this, all of a sudden, Florida now has twice as many as Texas. One year is possible. Two years in a row?

Have they made a shift?

I don't really care where you grew up in Texas, or what school your parents or friends went to. I don't care if you want to go to Baylor or Tech or A&M or whatever. I undersatnd there are fans and alum of all of those schools in Texas.
The question I have it is. How do you grow up in the State of Texas and decide to go to ou? Go to get an inferior education in the Indian Terr. I don't get that at all. I understand where Texas kids go just about anywhere in Texas. For a Texas kid to go to ou seems like a colassal fail of parenting, education, and coaching. Those kids and their parents can go move some place else. I find it a disgrace. I bet they root for Al Qaeda too.

Texas also got the ESPN #4 player (Westerman) and #87 player (Turner) out of state. Sure would like Texas to land Brown though.

Notreally,
I guess there are somethings greater to me than football. Texas is one. To each their own. I don't fault them, and some great kids to go ou. I know Tommy has done some great stuff for the community in Killeen for instance and he is a stand up kid (I guess not a kid anymore). I just don't get it I guess. I will chalk it up to my own obtuseness.

well, oklahoma is not really known for their state pride.... other than the football team that is. seriously.

but even then, we find it hard to believe that robert meachum, cobbs, dorion, and now turner would like to go out of state... but sometimes it has nothing to do with OU and/or OSU and everything to do with a kid wanting to go have a new experience. i surely don't blame them.

i think as a 35 year old, if i were being recruited today, i would pick OU in a heartbeat. because i love the team and all my memories and all that stuff.

but when i was 18, even though i was a huge OU fan, i might have jumped to go to a texas, miami, georgia, type of deal. i was not real enthused about staying in okc (why i moved to dallas matter of fact) and i'm sure that is what these kids feel.

if you grow in longview or conroe, a nice college town far away might seem pretty appealing.

So why does Scout have us looking so much better this year?

Someone in the know, please explain who the major recruiting raters are and how they lean.

Lots of California people think the say way about that state as we do about Texas. I think it has a lot to do with the fact both are big states with big populations, and both could actually bread off from the US and become very successful nations in their own right.

No other state has that ability so the state pride thing isn't as big as their national pride. Unless of course you live in SEC country where their pride is still in the Confederate states.

but see, you all are laways concentrating on the cool texas towns.... the austin's, marble falls, etc.

i assure you that van alstyne texas looks very much like every crappy small town in oklahoma. peterson was from palestine.... you been to palestine?
