Rivals' early 2009 top 25 rankings

I just don't see us being a top 3 team right now. It's not that it is possible, but it is difficult to wrap my brain around right now.

North Carolina should never be allowed to be ranked #1 ever again, or any ACC team for that matter.

Aggy at #4? Any team that has a skid like they did at the end of the regular season can't really be all that deserving of a preseason top 5 ranking. They are an excellent team though.

I love Kendall and Rivals and all, but this top 25 is goofy at best.

West coast teams should be #'s 1 - 10. I dont know who they would be necessarily, but I'd make sure and throw someone like Cal-Poly in there just to make sure that most of the bases are covered. I am still in awe of Fresno State. That was crazy.
 
Number three is too high, but I do think we deserve top 10 consideration, given the amount of talent we bring back.

Some questions that need to be answered:

1. Who will be the number three pitcher? Riley Boening is a possibilty. So is Brandon Workman, who apparently is looking good as a starter in his summer league.

2. Closer? We never really had a closer in 08. I'm hoping Cole Green fills the role, with Stayton Thomas as the top middle-relief guy.

3. Center Field? Someone help me on this. Maybe Kevin Keyes? Maybe Kyle Lusson? Runey Davis? True Freshman? Danks will not be easy to replace.
 
Also three ACC teams in the top 10?

What does it take for the media to understand? How many seasons? The ACC sucks. It's teams deserve top 25 status but always putting half the league in the top 10 every year only to see them exposed over and over and over for decades on end is getting tiresome.
