Rivals 100 has been released...

Only five Texas commits. And it begins...God they hate us. Their love for the SEC and USC makes me want to vomit.

ONLY five? in june? you poor things.

did you expect the national 100 to match the texas top 25 or something?

like other poster, it is likely you pickup at least one or two more. 7 on the top 100 would be pretty effing good. they don't hate you, but there is football played outside of texas man.

one thing that really stuck out for me was how neatly they sidestepped giving five stars to any of our guys. two of the top three four-star players are committed to us and one of them is the top four-star player.

like it matters, of course, but it seems to matter to them. : )

i'm sure scout will make up for it by giving out five stars to half your class. just hold tight a bit.

Ya... it sucks to ONLY five in June. The BOMC hasn't kicked in yet!!!

Opinions are like, well...you know what, and they all stink. I seriously doubt I'm gonna lose any sleep over how many of our verbals show up on Rivals' list, or how many stars our recruits have. Bottom line...OUR coaches like our recruits, and if they're honest, any coach in the country would trade for our class right now, in a New York minute. Nothing to see here...I'm moving on. Oh, and not really...sure they play high school football outside of Texas, but except in rare cases, not nearly as well. That's why every school in the country wants a Texas pipeline.

#10 - Malcolm Brown 5* (#2 RB)#12 - Christian Westerman 4* (#3 OL)#14 - Steve Edmond 4* (#5 LB)
#21 - Aaron Green 4* (#6 RB)
#29 - Austin Seferian-Jenkins 4* (#1 TE)
#47 - Sedrick Flowers 4* (#7 OL)
#50 - Quandre Diggs 4* (#9 ATH)

#55 - Josh Turner 4* (#2 DB)

#66 - Desmond Jackson 4* (#5 DT)

#79 - Quincy Russell 4* (#7 DT)

A few quick thoughts: 1) 11 5*s in the new release; 2) only one player from the State of Texas in the Top 10, two in the Top 20; 3) 64 uncommitted, 5 to Texas, 4 to LSU, 3 to Bama, 3 to Florida, 3 to ou, 2 to usc; 3) Westerman should've been a 5* (though, granted, only one spot removed); 4) Edmond is higher than I expected; 5) Diggs was pretty dominant but still seems a bit high for an ATH his size; 6) Desmond Jackson is waaaaaaaay low; 7) expected at least one of Evans, Reed, and Scott to make the Top 100.

124. Cochran
133. Greenlea
135. Evans
183. Shipley
186. Mcfarland
190. Moss
204. Reed
213. M. Thompson

Not on the list :
David Ash
Marcus Hutchins
Taylor Doyle
Joe Bergeron
Miles Onyegbule
Leroy Scott
Kendall Thompson

A little surprised Evans, Greenlea, and Reed aren't listed higher. Also surprised K. Thompson and Scott are not in the top 250.

2 five stars isn't bad at all. And I think that Jackson and Flowers will continue to rise. Texas with 13+ four star recruits isn't bad at all. Top talent at the top of this class is the big key.

ou is flat out overjoyed that there are players in Texas willing to play outside of Texas in the cesspool known as Oklahoma. Without Texas players their program is **** with our without cheating. Period.

The lame retort is without their coaches, blah, blah. Yeah, that's a fair trade. Maybe those coaches wanted to get the hell out of there and maybe some Texas players like cheating. A lot of cheating for a very long time.

OUE, while it's mostly an exaggeration, I think you have to admit that OU does benefit mightily from Texas recruiting. Not that this is bad or that they are the only non-Texas school to do so. It's a pipeline every school would love to have.
