RIP Whitney Houston

Although at times she may have displayed what some would consider questionable character, what a great talent she was.

While I was never a fan of hers at any stage of her career I totally recognize the talent and appeal she had to many. Rest in peace and respects to your family and loved ones. Fans too.

Unfortunately what a sad waste of talent. It's sadly appropriate that she dies right before the Grammys because she is the poster child of what is wrong with Hollywood/Music etc.

One of the truly magnificent voices ever. There are ways to become a better singer such as phrasing and accentuation but your born with a great voice. That's not something
anyone can teach. Wish she could have lived her life in happiness but self-destructive is a hard thing to shake.

It's sad for the loved ones she left behind that will miss her, but I have a feeling Whitney is more at peace now than she has ever known in this lifetime.

Amazing talent, I liked the tributes to her at the Grammy's last night.
Best national anthem ever. Brings a tear to your eye to hear it again.

Agreed- her post 9/11 national anthem is the best I've heard in my life- and likely ever will. Even if you ignored the background, the moment she had- just as a singer it was the best ever done.

Ehh I'm not upset. Yes she did drugs, no she wasn't in the military- but boy did she lift the nation's spirits in 2001 with her National Anthem.

No one is perfect- certainly not Whitney, but I think she gave this country more than she received. Lowering a flag won't hurt or disrespect anyone.

remember the National Anthem at the '91 SB as well--was at height of Gulf War, and although it was canned, probably the best I have ever heard--sad to know she passed--too bad her life turned as it did--RIP
