Some crazy up and down years with some crazy up and down people. Major kudos in the fight against AIDS.

At one time THE most beautiful woman in the world. Her's and Burton's performances in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" are classic.
RIP

What a long, strange trip it's been.

From hotness in Butterfield 8, to stormy times with Richard Burton, to obesity and chicken drumsticks, to Michael Jackson.

She rebounded slightly and became less of a grotesque caricature of herself in her later years.

I play golf with a guy who will shrug his shoulders after catching too much of a divot, but otherwise decent shot, and say, "That's a Liz Taylor." Inevitably, one of the guys in our group who hasn't heard the schtick before will ask what in the hell he's talking about. The reply, "A Liz Taylor. A little chunky, but not bad."

That smells like updog.

My favorite movie of hers is "A Place in the Sun" with Montgomery Clift and a young, svelte Shelley Winters.

The Link

Timeless drama, excellent screenplay.

Worth a rental, IMHO.

RIP.

I know this is an ET thread and all, but I can't resist.

Say, where did I see this guy? In Red River? Or a place in the sun? Maybe the Misfits? Or From Here to Eternity?

Everybody say, "Is he all right?" And everybody say, "What's he like?" Everybody say, "He sure look funny." That's...Montgomery Clift, honey!

I'm partial to ET's work with Richard Burton. But then, I'm partial to Richard Burton. In an acting way.
