He had a much of a hand in shaping the American landscape through the 80s and into the 90s as anyone.

His movies were highly entertaining, and I still think that everyone should have to watch The Breakfast Club before being allowed to procreate.

Movies that defined a generation and even more than that, per accurate. Fantastic films and fantastic movie soundtracks. He exposed a lot of people to music and bands they may not have known or liked otherwise.
