RIP George Carlin

George Carlin has died from heart failure. The man who made famous the "seven words you can never say on television" passed away at 5:55 p.m. Sunday at Saint John's Hospital in Santa Monica, his longtime publicist said. He was 71.

Carlin, who has had several heart attacks and a history of cardiac issues, went into the hospital this afternoon after complaining of heart problems.

According to the MSNBC article his new special, "14th Comedy Special" will air on HBO this Saturday. I don't know if it was planned that way or HBO is airing it early. I will watch it with heavy heart but deep, deep respect and admiration.

I remember a buddy's mom bought him that album when it came out. We were in elementary school at the time. We listened to that over and over until she heard what we were listening to. She took the album and a nail and scratched out the 7 dirty words track. Left everything else, just that one track.
