He was a Dallas guy, Samuel HS I think. Had some hits as England Dan but I remember him more from his country stuff with Marie Osmond.

There was something else that I remembered after reading his obit. He was in a group called Playboy 5 at Samuell HS and they got kicked out of school for having long hair. They went to court and DISD had to change their hair policy...circa 1966. (Edit: Just checked and this band was not involved in the lawsuit - was another band - but the Playboy 5 was involved at some point in the hair controversy.)
