Missed my usual Friday night dinner at Curra's because I was out of town so I went tonight to get my fix and they were closed.

Have eaten there so much we didn't have to order. Our waiter would just bring out our drinks and dinner.

They said something about Bob Cole opening the place up as The Frisco. That was news to me. Anybody know anything about this yet?

Haven't heard anything about Curra's or the Frisco, but I do know that Brentwood Tavern is closing which sucks a huge one.

Curra's on Burnet has looked closed for months. Mow the grass, guys.

That building seems to be cursed.

Brentwood Tavern and the Farmer's Market allegedly closed last week. The guy who bought the property from Travis County is going to put in an Indian restaurant and a "crystal shop". Yay. (Not.)

I ate a Curra's maybe a month ago. Could be wrong, but it wasn't that long ago.

Now we'll have to drive to south Austin to get al Pastor. damn.

Well ****. I ate at Curras on Burnet twice last week. I love their ceviche.

I was told The Frisco on Burnet and 2222 was closing down to make way for a Walgreens (like we need another pharmacy in that area). I guess it makes sense for them to move up the road.

The one on Oltorf was fine when I lived around the corner from it, but I don't live down there anymore. I was told our waiter will be working there for the time being, so I'm sure we will make the trip down on occasion just to see how he's doing.

Well, Hill's Cafe is a great building, but the food is otherwise.

The Tavern is fine if you are into close quarters and bland bar food.

Sorry I hurt feelings.

This is in my hood.

The Curra's on Burnet sucked. I'm talking "food problems so bad that they made us sick -- repeatedly" sucked. We gave it several chances, and they blew every one. A shame, since the one on Oltorf has long been a favorite of ours. I do not mourn its passing.

Brentwood Tavern closing sucks. It was like the Waterloo on 360, only much cooler and closer. If you had a family with kids, it was a great place to go. Phil's Ice House fills that void some, but the confines are smaller, and often more crowded.

Frisco moving to the Curra's building is a good thing. Better that than to lose it forever. I likes me a Down South burger now and then.

Now, if they'll just re-paint the Poodle Dog pink, like God intended . . .

unfortunately there is enough business to support it (or fortunately, depends on your perspective i guess)

same reason there are Starbucks across the street from each other. Because apparently there needs to be

There is a CVS in the Savers parking lot just south of the Frisco. There is a CVS across the street from Northcross Mall. There will soon be a Walgreens next to both of those CVSs. Make sense now?
