Are there any Texas fans that post here from Brazil? I will be in RdJ on 10/10 and need a spot that will be showing the game. Not watching is not an option.

I'm not there, but you should check with the Texas Exes chapter list for out of the country.

Then you can track down the president (or contact) and ask that person. I wouldn't guarantee it. I think that there is a much more avid following in Buenos Aires than Rio. Rio has too many other attractions for people to really care about following American football. They've got the beach... and ***, and caipirinhas, and *** on the beach, and naps... It's a rough town to live in.

Be sure to take in a Flamingo or Flumenes game at the Maracana(sp?) while you are there. Good fun.

good rec, i found a contact listed for Rio and emailed her. Will wait for the reply. it will be tough to not look at the stuff on the beach while drinking caiparinhas and not letting that wedding band slip into the atlantic!

There's an Irish pub in Ipanema called Shenanigans. They had U.S. sports(NBA) on TV when I was there last winter. Might want to give that a try....

Any luck finding contacts in Brazil? I'll be in Porto Alegre during the Missouri game, and in Rio during the OSU game. Would love to watch with other Exes...

Caipirinhas taste different from Mojitos:Mojitos have mint and are made with lime, rum, sugar, & soda water.

Caipirnhas
are only sugar, lime, & cachaça. Cachaça is also a sugar based liquor like rum, but it tastes different and is much crappier. MUCH crappier.

In fact, most Brazilians with any money don't drink it. They make the drink vodka and call it a "caipirovska" or "caipirinski". (I've heard both.)
