In Rick Gosselin's DMN NFL Report this AM:

"My Miami sources tell me Williams was the Dolphins' best player in training camp this summer, not just the best runner. With Parcells the new Sheriff in town, Williams realizes this is his last shot in the NFL, and he appears to want to make the most of it."

I am so grateful to Parcell's for giving RW another chance, when others probably would not have. Here's to hoping Ricky tears 'em up again this fall and is the leading rusher in the NFL.

He gets it backwards though. Ricky is not being brought into shape by Parcells. Parcells, as is his habit, reached out to Ricky which is what Ricky needed. Ricky has always had a problem with the impersonal nature of the NFL.
 
All Parcells cares about is your effort on the field - period. LT has said publicly that Parcells knew he was a raging coke fiend but he was always good to go on the field so there were no playing issues. If Ricky can produce and can keep from testing positive, he could go for 1,800 yards again.
 
Ricky is in great shape and is playing with renewed passion.
It helps his case that Ronnie Brown is not coming back from knee surgery as quickly as they thought he would.
Brown didn't even suit up last night because of a sprained thumb.
Cobbs is running really well and another guy(forget his name) ran real well last night.
Brown may find himself on the outside looking in if he doesn't heal up and get on the field.
 
i took a chance and drafted ricky somewhat high in my FF draft yesterday. i have soft spot for him because he generally seems like a good guy. now, that ****** better not pull any **** this season.
 
It's a great pairing. If Parcells could create a running back it would probably be something just like Ricky - a strong, physical back with speed who wears defenses down, gets better as the game goes on.
 
I thought Ricky looked and sounded great at his ten year Heisman anniversary celebration. It sounds like Earl Campbell continues to mentor and encourage him. I'm glad to see him healthy again and obviously excited to play. I wish Ricky an injury free blowout season!

Hasn't Ricky been the Dolphins #1 back since he got traded there? He just hasn't been able to stay eligible with all of his failed drug tests.
