Rick Perry and Smartness

I'll readily admit that this is blatant media bias. No Democrat would ever be asked this question no matter how dumb he or she was. However, I had to laugh that this question was directed to Rick Fairy. Enjoy!

Well played! It never crossed my mind to put Rick Perry and Smartness in the same sentence. Very well done!

I've watched several interviews with Rick Perry on television and if it wasn't for preconceptions I wouldn't have thought "This idiot seriously think he has a chance to be president?" Kudos to whoever is handling his media training..

However it brings up a serious issue. I had never opposed a Perry presidential bid, because I couldn't imagine him playing a role other than comic relief. But if he's taken seriously, I have some serious issues where his stances and decisions rule out being qualified to be president. For instance, keeping alive the legal struggle over execution of a man who, in my grandfather's terminology is objectively "nuttier than a fruitcake".The Link

I can take or leave the death penalty. But in cases where insanity or mental retardation is clear or when guilt is unclear ... humane nations and states don't allow it. Perry vetoed a
Texas law protecting the retarded from execution and has failed to use his commutation power in cases where guilt is unclear or where insanity is obvious. No matter how much your constituents love the death penalty, a governor should be intelligent and humane. If he's not mature enough to handle gubernatorial responsibility, he's sure as hell unqualified to be president.

Couldn't remember three things on a list of three. Only get one chance to make a first impression and his first national impression was not good. He should not be surprised by that question. Oops
