Richard Sherman on First Take - Roast Skip Bayless

I was in high school when Bayless arrived in the Dallas media in the mid 1970s. He was the most entertaining journalist of the day. I couldn't wait to read his column. Don't know when it happened that the ego grew so large that he stopped loving sports and making it a joy to follow.

With his "outing" of Troy Aikman, humiliation of Alexander Wright and published hatchet jobs on Tom Landry he stopped being fun to read and the humor evaporated.

When they create a Douchebag Hall of Fame, Skip Bayless will be a first ballot honoree.

By the way, just because "Skip Bayless" is the first word association match for "douche" in my mind doesn't mean what Sherman did is defensible. His words and behavior dimish his brand, his school and his team.

Skip did give me some assistance when I was a new reporter covering my first Byron Nelson. He offered me some story ideas and was a big help.

But I still think he's a pompous blowhard.
