I didn't see this posted anywhere, so apologies if this has already been discussed.

The RIAA drops effort to sue song swappers. I wonder why the change in direction? 35,000 sued, that's a lot of people.

They realized after sending tens of thousands of letters threatening suit, that they were going to have to go after tens of thousands of individuals, and that more often than not they were not going to be able to recover their legal expenses when people didn't just send them a settlement check.

They should subject those people to slave labor in third world country (read, oklahoma and arkansas) sweat shops so that the children currently suffering can be liberated. That or just feed them to the Lions.
