Burkhead is a tough gamer and will do good things at Nebraska. I love how the kid plays... wish there had been some way the Horns could have taken him. I am pleased he is going to a good program like UNL and not lowly aggy. Good luck to him!

Husker fans are pretty excited that Burkhead chose NU. He'll be joining the much less heralded Euless Trinity RB Dontrayveous Robinson as the only RB's in NU's class this year. There is a kid out of FL that may be added on Wednesday but with the Burkhead commitment that's considered a longshot.

Nebraska now has 9 Texas kids in this recruiting class which I believe is the most we've had from the state since the 90's.

Count me in the ranks glad he is going to a program with legit tradition and respect like Nebraska. He seems like a Husker type player, if that makes sense.

Burkhead does seem to have a lunchpail mentality which should mesh well with the culture Pelini is re-establishing in Lincoln.

The stronger NU is, the more they'll help our strength of schedule whenever we play them.

I like Burkhead, and being a plano native I have seen him play a few times. He reminds me of Trey Newton. He is a little undersized to be ideal for college and does not have break away speed or great inside jukes. What he is is a solid RB with more heart than anything. He has a winning mindset and a nose for the endzone. Both of these kids came out of great high school programs where they scored lots of TDs. But Rex is not an ideal specimine for college football. Does that mean he wont be good, no. But it does mean there is some danger he won't ever carry more than 10 times a game.

I like the kid and wish him the best at Neb.
