Thoughts:

1. Sounds crazy, but a bunch of busted plays was basically the difference between a 20-0 game and a 48-0 game.

2. Howard makes plays when he gets time. We need to mix coverages to get him uncomfortable. OK State actually did pretty well on 3rd down defense and it was tough to tell if they were doing man or zone on some of those plays. It was the random "find a guy after his man falls down" plays that were the huge difference. We've been apt to have a bunch of defensive plays like that recently. He wasn't fantastic against us last year outside of the long TD run that BJ Foster gave up on. But he's really come around in his decision making.

3. Sanders was terrible... he looked similar to Ewers against OK State. And putting in Card if Ewers is underperforming won't help because they really spied Sanders well. Finished with negative rush yards after sacks.

4. Deuce is Deuce. We can't give him lanes on the counter. Also need to cover him better out of the backfield.

5. Their defense was a "good" version of what we were going for under Manny Diaz. They hid their blitzes well and the players understood challenging assignments. They could drop 8 or come at Sanders with 7. OK State's receivers got confused and undercut routes. Kind of like ours against ISU and OK State...

6. Just like when everyone said "watch out for Hutchinson on ISU because he makes all the plays," the same seems to go for Malik Knowles. He didn't score but he softened things up for everyone else. He'd alter his route to allow Howard time to make a play. Or, he'd demand a safety over the top so the other receivers had crappy single coverage.

7. KSU was 3-3 on 4th down conversions. Two of them were of the "punch it a couple yards" variety, but the first one was interesting. 4th and 10 from the OK State 38, and they went deep for the TD. We can't allow momentum grabbers like that.

8. Their crowd is insane, and will be on Saturday night too. They effing hate us.
