Very good movie. Maybe even excellent.

Young girl must traverse the overcast and chilly Ozarks hunting for her father, a meth cook who is scheduled to appear in court. He has put up their home and property for the bond, hence the hunt. She is related to one degree or another to everyone in the area, but family has subtle shifts and treacherous drops as everyone seems involved in the trade. There is a strong feminist undercurrent, but it is not overt. Suffice it to say that the women take care of business and use no demonstrated 'feminine' foxiness to do so.

Low budge, low key. Some pretty good acting turns and a cast that includes some of the hardest bit women I have ever laid eyes on.

I highly recommend it for those that like edgy crime dramas mixed with rural culture (the film gets straight A's for opening up the world these people inhabit and create). A mystery and a journey. More than solid.

This sounds very good. I had not heard about this film, but thanks to your review I googled it and there are many others that share your opinion. I will have to check it out.
