Reusable grocery bags

I know I've seen posts about these in the past but cant find them at the moment. Where is a good place to buy them? I live on the east side of Fort Worth.

Your local grocery store.

I bought three bottles of wine at Kroger last week, (don't ask!), and they gave me a reusable bag with six compartments so the bottles don't hit each other.

But all groceries sell them.

Yeah, most grocery stores have them now. You can definitely find them at Central Market, Whole Foods or Sprouts. I even saw some at Lowe's when I was there last weekend.

Ok, I will check there. I thought I remembered people recommending certain ones that were better quality / insulation than the generic bags.

I like taking my Whole Foods bag to HEB and vice versa. I dont do it on purpose, I only have the two bags. Nobody says anything and I guess they are just glad I have the bags. Then again, I don't think the cashiers at HEB care as much as a couple of the ones at Whole Foods.

I saw one sort of berate this man for not having reusable bags and not buying any.

What type of discount below cost do they offer? I say that b/c we are saving them money by using this.

Well it's also a service to yourself. Carrying 3 of those green HEB bags is a hell of a lot easier than carrying 12 plastic bags.

Hell, half the times I go shopping I forget to bring them with me and I just buy a few new ones when I check out. Even though I now have 15 or so of them at home, it's worth a couple of bucks to be able to fit 10 plastic bags worth into 2 or 3 green bags. Makes it easier to load and unload when you shop with two little kids.

Personally I like carrying plastic bags because I can carry 10 of them at the same time. Plus, they make great trash bags for my small apartment.

At the grocery store today, the lady in front of me had reusable bags. The checker faithfully sorted our her groceries, put them in plastic bags, and then put them in her reusable bags.

From now on, I'm calling them redundant bags instead of reusable bags.

Actually I've read it takes more than 300 uses to help the environment because the reusable bag also takes longer to biodegrade. And I have no evidence to back that up.

Check an HEB, they have some orange ones now with a big Longhorn logo on it. At least down here in Pflugerville...
