Retired numbers -- about freakin' time

Maybe it's too early to officially retire, but I still wish they'd at least take Huston's number out of circulation. It bugs me to see one of our deep bench guys wearing 25.

It irked me to see 23 in play as well, although Dustin and others acquitted themselves nicely.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this a 200 on the awesome meter.

I guess this is how you solve only having Roid Rocket on the wall.

Either way I'm 100% happy for Kieschnick on this one.

i wonder if there were calls to take 21 down, so they decided to co-dedicate that number to swindell to deal with that, all though it is completely deserved, and decided to look into who else deserved the honor. whatever the motivation, it will look great to have those #s on the wall.

Why not put some type of sign up with the CWS 2002 team names and numbers and the 2005 CWS team also. The team picture that each team had made would be great up. Any thoughts on this?

You would have to do the same thing for the 1949, 1950, 1975, and 1983 championship teams.

And then it's a question of room on the walls.
