restaurants with a view

So where's the best place to get a drink, or a meal and have a great view of the sunset, the city, whatever. V-Day just around the corner, you know.

The Shoreline Grill is great at sunset. The Roof Top Cafe( I think that's the name) above the Shereton has a great sunset view of downtown.

I have lived in Austin for 9 years and the Oasis has had at least one management change, maybe more and one thing is consistant: the food sucks. It has always sucked, it will always suck.

off topic, but did any of y'all ever jump off the cliffs down the hill from the Oasis? an unfortunate view of hippy hollow (or at least some cove full of naked, hairy, fat, frolicking freaks), but those were the most accessable cliffs on the lake. i think that part has been developed, though.

Oasis view is awesome, but stop somewhere before and get a bite to eat.

Yeah, the cliffs right below are awesome to jump off of...30-40ft drop depending on where you jump. In the summer boats come and dock right off the cliffs and people swim over to jump off.

Why hasn't the Oasis ever fixed their food problems? Everyone knows that it sucks, so the owners have to know it. too. The place makes money now, but could you imagine if the food were good how much loot it would pull in?

I tried the food when they advertised an "improved kitchen" once. Thought I would start small with some nachos and give them a chance. First time I've ever been to a restaurant that could mess up nachos!! No mas!

I agree the view at Bonedaddy's is spectacular I'm not sure who does the hiring but damn he does a fine job of it.

when you're buying the lowest quality foods, lowest quality kitchen help (the cheapest) and STILL have consistent 45-60 minute waits....why change?
