Restaurants near La Cantera-San Antonio

Staying there in a couple of weekends. Other than the PF Changs at the Shoppes, any other nice restaurants to recommend within, say, 10miles?

Or just cruise down I-10 a few miles. There is a plethora of places there.

The original Rudy's is a few miles away but apparently their BBQ sucks. There is an Italian place right across from it that is pretty decent. The Stone Oak and Blanco area has tons of restaurants including a zushi sushi which I hate because is very non-traditional. Also there is a Silo which I understand isn't as good as the one off of Austin Hwy. Oh and Paseano's which again is popular and people here rave about it but I found it average at best. You might look at going out to Scenic Loop Cafe or Grey Moss Inn which used to have one of the top rated steaks in the US.

possibly the best restaraunt in town (francesca's) is right in your hotel. others close paesano's (i prefer reggiano's another exit up at stone oak), silo (atmosphere is colder and not as hip and warm as austin hwy original, but food is just as good - worth trying for an out-of-towner. another consideration is cafe paladar (also at stone oak).

let's sum up: francesca's, silo, or paladar are your best bets for great food, and a unique san antonio experience. if youre thinking of throwing down a little less cash, bigz burgers is up 1604 an exit or so.
