Am familiar with Campisi's (Italian) but looking for other recommendations on good Mexican food, BBQ, burgers and the like. Thanks!

Campisi's is teh overrated.

MEXICAN
Herrera's
Mia's
Fuel City
Uncle Julio's (great fajitas, I **** you not)
Millions of little taquerias, which kick all kinds of ***

BBQ
Sammy's (of course, but only open for lunch)

BURGERS
Keller's Drive-In
Jake's Hamburgers
Angry Dog
The Loon
Jack's Burger House

FINE DINING
Bob's Steak and Chophouse
Nick & Sam's
Tramontana (chef who started Al Biernat's)
Al Biernat's

PIZZA/ITALIAN
Coal Vines (in Uptown)
Nero's (lower Greenville)
Cafe Italia (on Lovers)

That oughta get you started.

EDIT: It's Uncle Julio's, not Don Julio's.

AWESOME! Thanks much.

Casita Dominguez on Blackwell off of Greenville is my sentimental favorite Mexican place in Dallas.

Some good UT themed stuff on the menu.

DallasFood

Check out this site- has a lot of reviews/ pics of local Dallas restaurants.

I would also add Avila's on Maple to the list of inexpensive Mexican restaurants.
