Anyone have a good recommendation for TV repair in the Austin area? (no Jeff Spicoli jokes please)

I got a 3 year old Panasonic 42" Plasma flat screen with the dreaded red flashing lights (10 times, then repeat)

looks like a have a power board issue.

My 4 yr. old Sony 40" went blank. Paid $49 for any estimate and it was $500-$800. I paid $1,200 for an upgraded 46" at A&B TV. Prices have dropped so much, dont waste money repairing a 3-4 y/o TV.

TexHorn, i hear what you are saying, and i would evaluate the estimate in that regard. I am fearful that the cost to fix it will be big enough to go that route.

Maybe i am getting old and cranky, but shouldn't there be a reasonable expectation that a $800 TV should last more than 3 years?

I remember wrong, my Panasonic is just 2 years ago.. bought it in October 2008.

Got an estimate.. was the power board. $375 to fix.

Apparently power boards from Plasma Panasonics have been failing with great frequency in 2007 and 2008 models. If the internets are to be believed, there is talk of a class action suit.

Anyone else had power board failure with Panasonic?
