Report says LHN is losing mucho dinero for ESPN.............

Although, winning changes everything. But if the LHN goes down, it may help with conference realignment. Who knows.

The $48 million lost is on the studios, equipment, talent, and all of the capital that it cost to basically build the network from the ground up. This wasn't supposed to be an inexpensive venture that paid for itself immediately. I think ESPN and everyone in general is just surprised at how poorly Texas has fared in sports, directly correlating to how the network continues to unimpress with fledgling viewership (about the same # of viewers as an ESPNU game whenever LHN has a live game), and thus, not the high caliber of sponsors that they had hoped. I don't even have HEB's where I live.

Later in the article, it states that the best LHN projections have it turning a profit for the first time ever in 2015-16. If it continues to increase that profit over the life of the contract, it's not going to be a huge windfall for ESPN, but it's not exactly going to sink the network either.
