Replacement keyless remote control

I need a replacement remote clicker for a car. Several of the buttons on the remote don't respond anymore. I don't want to pay out the *** for one at a dealership. Are there alternative sources for these? Google wasn't my friend this time.

You should get one from the dealer, because the aftermarket products are an add-on device, which will fail and cause you big problems later on. You will take the car to a shop because it will not start, and they won't have a wiring diagram to figure out what is wrong because the wiring is no longer factory. This will eat up what you saved on getting the cheaper device (don't know about all replacement or add-on devices, some might be better than others).

I got an OEM remote from midwestkeys on ebay for $25 with shipping. It came with a link to a site that teaches you to program it. It works perfectly and was easy to program.

I would try replacing the battery first and then get a remote from ebay.

Most dealerships have a machine that they put the remote on and try it and it will tell you if the battery is dead or there is some other problem. Might be easier than cracking it open.

My Nissan Pathfinder has a key fob as well. I have bought 2 backups on ebay for like $20. I made sure that they were good for my year and make. Gave one to my wife and I have a backup that I use when I go running sometimes rather than taking my keys.

My wife has an Accord. If we want to get a replacement for her car, it will be expensive b/c it is on the key.....
