We are about half way done with our cabin on our land (180 acres--35 wooded--old rice farm in Eagle Lake) ---still touch up and paint on the outside. Inside wiring and insultation done-- sheetrock next. We are finishing out bathroom now and start kitchen early fall. About 900 sq ft--one bunk room and sleeper sofas in the den--beachhouse style.
Several friends have asked to rent the place out once we are done. Just to get away from the city for the weekend, 4 wheelers, shoot clays or maybe fish. A few mentioned family reunion kind of place.
We have a carport on the backside that has a concrete pad and a bbq pit--we placed the carport to get the SE breeze. In the winter, we are re digging the 3 ponds to connect to have about a 2 acre lake and after that stock with trophy bream for my flyfishing habit.
So what would a decent rate for the place for a be? We aren't trying to get rich, but nothing wrong with augmenting my dad's retirmement income either.
