Remember

Yup. Even more exciting now knowing he has a year behind him and might be ready to shine this year,

I'm excited that UT has at least two QB's available to play next year. If one is having trouble or is injured, there is a replacement waiting to come in and save the day. Swoopes has a year of hard-earned experience and a big arm; and Heard is the untested savior with wings on his feet and high school trophies. Hallelujah for the options!

2012 was the last time we had 2 decent QB's on the team. That team went 9-4.

I think he will shine with the new scheme. He was being described as a guy who was struggling to develop, but I think that was mostly due to him having to change his style. I'm really rooting for this guy.

I have not forgotten. I am really excited to see the spring game this year after the first outright QB competition at UT in many years. I have no doubt we'll have a better QB situation just based on Heard pushing Swoopes, regardless of which QB starts.

Last year was a contingency situation, but the years before that there was less of an outright competition and more of a caste system. (Ash was the undisputed starter for good reason, but beyond that...)

Perhaps I have missed it but, there has very little press about Heard, period. The only thing I can remember was that Watson noted he was beginning to come along near the end of the season.

I find the lack of news of any type, well, unusual.
