Remaining 2010 Football Recruit Offers

From what I have been able to gather we still have 6 outstanding offers in this class. They are:

1. Jackson Jeffcoat, DE, Plano West
2. Lache Seastrunk, RB, Temple
3. Darius White, WR, Fort Worth Dunbar
4. Jordan Hicks, LB, Ohio
5. DeAndrew White, WR, G.Park North Shore
6. Trovon Reed, WR, Louisiana

Reed currently has us listed as having no interest in us but high interest in Auburn, LSU, and Florida so I don't think we have a chance at all with him.

We have a great class but if we could get 2 or 3 of these it would be even more outstanding.

Please post updates or corrections if you have any.

My predictions:

1. Jackson Jeffcoat, DE, Plano West - USC or Houston
2. Lache Seastrunk, RB, Temple - Auburn
3. Darius White, WR, Fort Worth Dunbar - OU
4. Jordan Hicks, LB, Ohio - tOSU
5. DeAndrew White, WR, G.Park North Shore - Florida or A&M
6. Trovon Reed, WR, Louisiana - LSU

I really do not think TEXAS is in with any of these guys at all; may be TEXAS has a chance with Jordan Hicks but that is the only one. If TEXAS does get another 2010 recruit it will probably be someone we have never heard of and is on nobody's radar screen.

Time to move on to 2011 recruiting, because TEXAS is done for 2010.
 
I think basically we have moved on to the 2011 recruiting class. These are the remaining 2010 offers that have not committed.
 
Not a bad year at all. I would have loved to have Jeffcoat and Hicks, but I prefer high profile defense recruits. With the defense recruits we already have, that would be like the '83 defense, if they all stayed healthy, and lived up to their potential. I can be very happy stopping right here, and saving the 'ships for next year.
 
Don't see any reason to pack it in this year so early, it doesn't cost us anything to keep recruiting people for this year. Plus this is one of the better years in recent Texas state history for talent--ton of great talent out there. Hicks and Jeffcoat are good enough to be on until the signature is dry and the paper's not burnt orange.
 
I hope our coaches don't give up. Not every kid is the same and just because they are not one to make a decision in advance does not mean that they don't bleed Orange when you get them to commit.
 
I agree with Speedway, but offer one possible scenario that might keep us in it for Jeffcoat and Hicks...might.

If we stay at #2 all season, and then win the NC, it's going to be tough for those two guys to say no to Mack. There will be lots of excitement, massive national attention, and endless compelling reasons to attend Texas.

So, if all that happens, maybe we get one of those guys.
 
Agreed.

Esp on Hicks with an inviting depth chart at LB. Would seem to me to be a perfect fit.

Hope Jordan sees it that way!

I have absolutely no inside info, but it seems to me from everything that I read that Darius White and Hicks are the only two from this list that we have ligitimate shots at
 
I would be suprised if both Seastrunk and Michael Dyer end up at the same college. It has happened before but Malzahn likes to pass a lot. Dyer seems to like Auburn at this point and equally important, does not like Petrino.

I wish we could recruit a kicker like Russell Erxleben. He was an excellent punter, field goal kicker, and kick off man for us. I wish we could get one because for some reason we are being hurt on kickoff and punt returns. Russell also had played QB at high school so if a ball was snapped over his head he might have been able to do something. But still the main thing is he could kick.
