Relief pitcher trying to take all the credit.

Can you imagine a starting pitcher pitching 8 2/3 innings of solid pitching only for another player trying to take credit for the 1/3 inning he pitch as the hero? And get this, when the time was up for the starter to come out of the game the manager signals for the relief pitcher to come in to get that last out and the pitcher in the bull pen refuses to come out. So the manager signals again while stand on the mound waiting. Still no relief pitcher. Finally the manager signals a third time and the pitcher reluctantly comes out with no confidence and happens to get the batter to pop up in the infield. After the game the relief pitcher is in front of the microphone telling everyone that " I" and "me" won the game. Just bragging about his dominance and making it all about himself?

That is exactly what happened with Bush and his administration doing the work to get Bin Laden and exactly what Obama did when Bin Laden was caught.

I don't really think that Bush or Obama either had much to do with it. The military and intelligence workers did all the heavy lifting and the presidents might have chimed in a yes or no along the way but had very little to do with the day to day activities. For either side to claim my guy is the one that did it is pretty silly, when most of the major players were the same folks for both of them.

Some say Clinton balked at the chance to take bin laden out after the Cole bombing in '99. Others say Bush screwed up by not getting him in December of '01 at Tora Bora. I tend to think it had more to do with the military and intelligence than the sitting President.

When we evaluate Bush's focus on Bin Laden, remember the fact that the Middle East special forces brigade was pulled out of Afghanistan in preparation for the Iraq war. Their replacement? The Latin American group. We don't know howuch the CIA was distracted while Bush-Cheney pushed them for evidence to justify the Iraq invasion.

It's undeniable the 2 war approach harmed the effectiveness of BOTH wars.
