Refurb Slingbox AV $69 - UPDATE - Need help now

I've been intrigued with the Slingbox but never pulled the trigger. Is this a good product at a good price? It's so cheap I figure it's worth a shot, no?

At $69, even if you get it and it sucks out loud, will it make any kind of significant financial impact on your life moving forward?

I think you're on the right track - it's worth a shot at that price.

That's what I figured too. And my sister-in-law just recently went to Thailand and will be there for a year, so maybe this will come in handy for her to use for some back home programming.

Can't comment on the refurb aspect,but Slingbox in general is awesome. Use it to watch CNBC and other things on my work computer. Soon will work with blackberry or iPhone. Great invention. Highly recommend.

Ok I got the box yesterday and hooked it up this morning. Got it up and running fairly easily and screwed around with changing channels, etc from my slingplayer.

Then I closed slingplayer. Now when I open it I can watch but cannot open the remote control. If I hit control mode on, it just slows down the video but still no remote. I tried reconfiguring my device but it never let me select my device name, just adjust brightness, etc and then said setup successful.

What do I do now?

i uninstalled it all again, but this time hit reset on the box as well (duh) and it's working great.
